Browse Forums Building Standards; Getting It Right! 1 Mar 25, 2021 11:47 pm Hi, all, thinking to build a freestanding pergola similar to this , height is around 2.7m above ground, 6 meters wide, using 4 posts (maybe 5?) on one side !does anyone know what size of the posts should I use? Thinking maybe 150X100mm (10mm thickness )would be strong enough? And what’s the maximum overhang length? Those beams look like around 1.5m wide.. advice please!
