The concrete area is covered by the wood deck above so it gets wet when it rains as the rain come through the gaps in the board. We are thinking of tiling the concrete area - as this is on the ground floor I am aaauming it does not require waterproofing but wanted to check? You need to make sure that once tiled, it remains below the internal floor height, and doesn’t allow water to flow towards the house or covers weep holes. If you can't check or are unsure, then definitely waterproof it. If it's a newer slab, it will have one. You can tile it flush with your internal area, its just not ideal.
