Browse Forums Building Standards; Getting It Right! 1 Nov 02, 2020 4:24 pm Hi Renovation and Construction Experts - I am in process of a CDC approval for creating a room out of a current workshop in my house in nsw. This is just about building one wall as the workshop has 3 walls already with a door and a window opening into a sun room. And the flooring to meet the standards of a habitable room. My workshop has a door and a window (covers more than 10% of the floor area of the workshop) and that opens into a sunroom(which is only doors and sliding windows shown in the picture) As per the certifier, I need to have another window created in the room to make it habitable room.Marked in yellow color in the new floor plan. My question is from the experts here that if the door and the window already opens into a adjacent room that has doors and windows, so as to the total opening into the sky/sun is more than 10% of the total floor area of workshop and the sunroom then do i need to create this new additional window? Please advise. Thanks Hey, I am wanting to add a second toilet to my house, bit we have limited room. There is a hallway/entry that is never used, so was thinking this could be an option.
