Privacy laws during building

We bought a land last week . The adjacent land on the left side got sold on the same day. Need help to understand if we would need to obsure our windows on the left side if both of us are building together. How would the council determine the privary rules?

The council have set rules about overlooking and privacy. Not all the windows will require to be obscured, if at all depending in what they're directly looking at and from what height. At the moment you won't have any idea untill things move along a bit more

You would be best talking to the council. In my area it seems to only apply if someone speaks up about it.
