Howdy,
Just thought I’d post up and say gdday.
I have just put an offer on a coastal property ’down south’ (south-west wa). Its a sloping block, east facing, but potential unobstructed ocean views forever! How could I resist ?
At the moment my head is spinning, as I didn’t necessarily plan this. However, its pretty exciting...
Have had a look at the WA builders who build in that area, but none seem to have a plan that works for me (3+ x 2, 2 storey / split level, big balcony at the back). So currently playing with own design, and possibly going to tender... but may also go Owner Builder, kit home, modular or something along those lines... possibilities are endless! I know the layout I would like, but the materials are still to be decided - and also depend on cost! Would ideally like to keep it sub $250k for the build as it will only ever be a holiday home / rental.
The place is in a fire prone areas, gut feeling says BAL29. Will have to go through development proposal, as I want to push the house as far to the back of the block as possible (highest point, reserve at the back and better views). Also quite sandy plot, so likely to be pole home...
Thanks for all the info on the forum, been spending my nights reading it and the building codes 😂
So say hi, and if there are any specific threads I would benefit from, please let me know!
