Hi - we're back. Yes we were the ones who were building with a volume builder in Melbourne and cancelled after permits were issued. We were devasted at the need to make the decision but things had come to a point where it was not viable for us to continue. Our issues were not with the builder.
Our needs are still the same, so we've decided to extend the back of our existing house. Currently we have a clinker brick 1930s house with 3 BR, kitchen, laundry, dining room, lounge room, small sun roon and large timber deck.
Our new plan is demolish the kitchen, demolish BR 3, laundry and sun room, and construct another bathroom, additional bedroom (BR 4), convert the dining room into a bedroom (BR 3), family room, dining area just off kitchen, laundry and study. All this can be accommodated in roughly the same footprint of the existing house and decking. We are roughly doubling the size of the house. Woo hoo!
So for us it "onwards and upwards"!
Cheers
