Nice forum! been roaming around here for sometime. So we decided to sign up.
Purchased a block of land in sydneys norwest late last year (unplanned.) Hoping to build end of this year.
In the meantime researching what home, what we need versus wants! Exciting stuff.
We'll be blogging our findings as we go. (blog link on signature.)
Hope this was a good enough introduction.

Hi, we are just about ready to commit to demolishing and rebuilding in Melbourne's outer east. We're finalising all the extra details and have found this forum really helpful so far. We look forward to learning more and hopefully being able to help someone else someday.

Been wanting to build my own home for some time. Finally after many years have the opportunity. Just in the final bit of finance atm.
Found this website after I was searching for answers. Seems like this website will really come in handy in the next couple of months.
Already found a few answers to queries I had.

I'm not a builder, but have worked in this industry for the past 5 years, starting with wall cladding and finishing products (render/texture coat) and now with a waterproof panel.
I spend most of the day on the phone answering questions from architects, builders, home owners and the like, so I have a sound knowledge and understanding of building practice. There are however some questions I am seeking answers for, so I look forward to getting to know you.

Hi! I'm Mel...been trawling and inputting on the forums for a few months now and thne realised i hadn't even introduced myself...silly old melly
Anyway, my other half Rob and myself are demolishing our existing house in FTG as we could not find any blocks of land that was reasonably priced or wasn't way out the back of burke. We figured we'll never find a location such as ours that ticks all the boxes. So here we are about to commence a funfilled journey, i am sure It will teach me a lesson in patience no doubt!
I have started a blog as now i have something to write about. Looking forward to sharing our experience with everyone and also following everyone else on their journey too

Hi, I'm Christine. It's probably time to stop lurking and start interacting (I've read some threads from start to finish already). I'm in Perth, planning to subdivide and build two (sucker for punishment, really), one of these for myself and my dogs. So, a custom build (very narrow blocks) which is sounding as though 'fun' will be the name of the game!
