Welcome aboard.
With a brother in law who's a sparky and myself being in IT since the 70's and PM'ing many cabling projects - it'll be great to hear your input.

Just had one of your crew inspect one of my rentals last week. I had the sparky reconnect a few "specially" cut cables just before the meter box and replace and remove some unnecessary bits of left over wire around the house. Apparently there are some "******* sparkies" out there who supplement their income doing things like this... I didn't even know you guys existed until I rang my local power company to get a reconnection and was told I needed a cert. of electrical safety and an inspectors report. Needless to say its all good now. You do learn something new everyday though. Welcome on board! We are in the process of relocating from Syd to Qld and moving back into 'our' home which has been rented for the last 5years. We have a bit of work that we want to do to the place before moving further north. My husband has just left the Defence after 13 years (a move I am most pleast with ). He now has a trade under his belt and with all his licences ready to go he will be moving into Brissy ready and raring to work his plumbing magic. So glad I found this forum, as I have no idea what we are about to take on I've already picked up a few ideas/tips from what I've read. Cheers Kelly our dream home in the hands of a nightmare builder Cheers for your help Re: Introductions Please! 28Nov 08, 2007 6:58 pm Michelle installation inspector….I’ve checked you out already, as soon as I saw your name appear! Before your first post. Glade to have you here, I think you will be good to have around. Welcome…..have fun! Must have scared that guy off!!!! He hasn’t been back since!!! Haha! No I'm still around. The main reason I joined this forum was to ask a question about insulation (already done in the appropriate section) and Ive since been busy in the ceiling putting in the new insulation before the weather warmed up again (we had a week or so of cool and cloudy days in Sydney so I took advantage of it). I rang a few places for quotes and was surprised at how cheap the labour costs were for installation of insulation - the expensive part seems to be the labour to remove the old loose-fill insulation - over $1000! I'll still be around here for some time I expect, as I research more for the future KDR of this house which we expect to do in 5-10 years (I like to thoroughly research anything and everything before I commit). A month ago I was chatting to a mate of a mate who is currently in the process of KDR (owner builder) and he's already told me alot of information based on his progress (and mistakes)...
