Hello,
We are in the early stages of building our new home on our farm outside Donnybrook. We are building the Faversham Estate (4bdr alternative) with WA Country Builders.
So far we have had a soil survey and a contour survey conducted and are in the process of having the existing house moved off the property. We havn't finalised the house plans - we seem to keep adding more and more doors! but are almost at the point where we can stop "playing" with the plans - its so much fun though.
We added a clause in the PPA that no further plans were to be drawn until we had an estimation of site costs as we didn't want to be liable to pay for drawings if the site costs were so high that it put the project outside of our budget and we didn't go through with the build (that was in the fine print).
It means the whole process is going to take that much longer, but we are currently living rent free off the property so it isn't too much of a problem......although now that I have found this site and started reading other peoples building experiences, I can't wait to get started.
