I'm in the middle of owner building the dream home with hubby. We are not builders. That's why we've been at it 18months and are only just getting the roof on!
Last year we lost 14 weekends in a row to rain. This year we broke the drought again by having a 4-day Queen's Birthday weekend all planned out for roofing and starting on exterior wall cladding... we got one day to work. The rest was wet and windy (not exactly what we were looking for - corrugated iron and wind and rain don't mix!)
If it is ever finished, we'll have four bedrooms and a rumpus room, with polished timber flooring in the living areas. We've put down that composite flooring stuff elsewhere (and will have to replace some of it once the roof is actually on it - it got wet

The interior framing has some very interesting bends in it too, but the suppliers assure us that's due to the weather and not the quality of the timber.
Why, oh why didn't we go steel frame?
