DH and I have finally decided to go ahead with building after listing many pros and cons of building vs buying outright. We have just settled on a block of land in Piara Waters and now waiting for our building plans to come through with DAH. Can't wait for the next few stages of choosing all our fixtures etc..! so I guess we just have to wait patiently for now... Welcome to WA 43Jul 18, 2012 12:14 am Hi, I'm going to building in Iluka hopefully in the nearest future. This is our second house but first at building one. Hopefully we will of sorted who we will be building with soon. Started thinking that we were going to build a single storey house but now we are going to build a double storey house and plus all the things I thought I wanted I have totally changed my mind about! As this will be the house we will be living in for 25/30 years we need to get it right. Fingers crossed Re: Welcome to WA 44Jul 18, 2012 2:35 pm Hi everyone! I have joined as we are trying to make a decision about whether we stay put in this freezing house in Baysie, renovate to stay here or to sell for higher amount, detonate or sell as is and build a new one. It is a very hard decision but hoping to get advice and inspiration here. crystarr my sister and BIL built in Piara Waters and they love it. Best of luck! Re: Welcome to WA 45Jul 18, 2012 3:29 pm Hi all. My partner Dave and I are building our first home in Meadow Springs, WA. We're building with Scott Park Homes as so far the experience has been amazing. Our H1 build thread and my Wordpress blog are in my signature below. Re: Welcome to WA 46Aug 06, 2012 8:14 pm Hello to everyone in WA! My partner and I will be building with Summit on our NOR block, haven't gotten anywhere yet but when we do I'll most likely start a thread Until then, I'll continue stalking everyone elses for ideas! Re: Welcome to WA 47Sep 19, 2012 7:56 am Hello All, just bought a block (2.5 acre) in Baldivis. Pre-plan on the 02nd Oct. Found this site about a week ago, very thankful I did. Just trying to gain as much information prior to this date. Polished concrete, rainwater tanks, lighting, etc. Haven't built before, so it's going to be an experience. We'll keep you posted on our progress. We're (Dean & Justine) finally taking the leap into home ownership and have found this forum sensational in researching stuff and the pitfalls to look out for in the search for the Great Aussie Dream! We're just awaiting full finance approval on the land that we have bought in the new release of Vale, Aveley called "Egerton Village" which although not titled yet, will be at the top end of Gamin Vista (cnr Farina St). Looking forward to sharing our experience with others in our situation! Re: Welcome to WA 51Nov 05, 2012 4:35 pm Hello all, We are buiding with Celebration Homes, we demolished a home in the Northern Suburbs. Our retaining walls have been completed and at the moment they are doing earth works. I look forward to sharing the building experience with you all. Re: Welcome to WA 52Jan 02, 2013 5:56 pm Hi everyone I have just joined this forum, but have read a couple of posts before. My husband and I are building with Dale Alcock. This is our 2nd build, previously we built with Scott Park Homes. Last time was easier because we had no kids back then and all the time in the world. Now we have 3 boys Our block is located in an established part of Tapping. Still at the planning stage. Nice to meet you all x Re: Welcome to WA 53Jan 03, 2013 9:11 am Hiya 3rdtimemum. My partner and I just built with SPH and moved into our new home in August - our experience was fantastic; how did you find building with them? Re: Welcome to WA 54Jan 11, 2013 2:33 pm HI everyone, I just joined today. I have a beautiful block in Maryville Downs Lower Chttering which I have decided to sell. We hope to also sell our home in Jane Brook and build again here in Jane Brook at Highland estate. If not will just build on the block at Chittering and sell later. So bascially at some point will be building. I have only been a member of this site for one day and am finding it so useful reading about contracts, builders etc. When I build I really want to get as much inculsions as possible without getting a rubbish build if you know what I mean. I may need to rent it out so need as much completions as possible. Therefore I am closlely following the people who have built with Ventura, Dreamstart and ######. Too be honest the houses I like the look of the most seem to be Celebration Homes. Thanks for all your great info. Well wont be using ###### as it came up as forbidden text which is worrying (Does that mean they dont want to be mentioned on this site?) Re: Welcome to WA 55Mar 20, 2013 10:42 pm Building on the Mandurah canals. It is our first build so I'm trawling through all this great information on this forum. Building mistakes seem to be expensive, so I'm hoping to research as much as possible and avoid the temptation to rush. We have not yet selected a builder/house plan, but have a shortlist in mind. We want an off-the-plan design which maximises rear views. Writing things down and getting other people's opinions seems to really help, so I've started a blog (see link below). Thanks! Edit. We've decided to build the Rubix with Webb and Brown-Neaves. http://www.housebythewater.wordpress.com From blank block to new home in Mandurah, Western Australia. viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65564 Re: Welcome to WA 56Mar 23, 2013 1:37 pm HI Housebythewater. you might want to check out the thread- Things you forget" viewtopic.php?f=31&t=5823&hilit=things+you+forgot Re: Welcome to WA 57Apr 10, 2013 7:47 pm There was a previous Mandurah canals house built by a member a while back. Cheers, I did a brief search but didn't see anything. Will look again. Kexkez might mean this one: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=31932&start=40 Reading about some of their negative experiences scared me a little though. http://www.housebythewater.wordpress.com From blank block to new home in Mandurah, Western Australia. viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65564 Re: Welcome to WA 59Apr 12, 2013 3:54 pm that's the one. I remember that tap Think they might have had a previous thread for during the build. maybe. hard to remember back. Re: Welcome to WA 60Apr 24, 2013 6:27 pm Hi all, New to the forum and relatively new to WA. We came over from the UK in September last year (2012) and have fallen in love with Oz. We've just completed on a block on Spyglass Hill in Secret Harbour. It seems strange being the only Poms in Secret Harbour. . We are hoping to sign off on the design of a house very soon. |
