My wife & I are not building but have purchased an established house in Armadale. We have put ducted inverter system in, security screens but now need to do some landscaping and driveway e.t.c. We are on a corner block with backyard access for our van. I have 1 question. We have a crossover which we wish to concrete, which cannot be done at the moment as we have a power pole within the western power specs for distance from the crossover. How this has been allowed to happen I will never know. We have \been in touch with the council and they have been in touch with western power ( or so they say ) It is now 6 weeks. Does anyone know if anybody has had the same problem and how long it takes for anything to be done about it. Thankyou in advance Re: Welcome to WA 14Aug 13, 2010 12:14 am Just built in Mandurah, handover was 6 weeks go. Grew up in Kalamunda, then moved to Canberra for 21 years. Couldnt stay away from this great state for to long, so had to return. Love living at the beach, no more cold winters and NO MORE having to scrape the ice off the whole car before heading out to work Re: Welcome to WA 15Aug 17, 2010 2:31 am Building a one-off SOR on a 10m wide block. Been over a year in the planning (too many delays to list) but we just got council approval today so hopefully things will get moving in the next couple of weeks. Build blog to come. Re: Welcome to WA 16Dec 24, 2010 10:27 am Hi all, I am a grandmother of nearly 15 (new one due May) and my husband and I are building our first ever brand new home (and no we are not ancient - we started our family at a very young age ). We are at the stage where the brickies are in and are doing a wonderful job. It has however, not been plain sailing all of the way and there have been times when we wondered whether we should have even started. Hopefully these times are now behind us (I am ever the optimist ). Regards, Supergran Re: Welcome to WA 17Dec 25, 2010 11:37 am Supergran Hi all, I am a grandmother of nearly 15 (new one due May) and my husband and I are building our first ever brand new home (and no we are not ancient - we started our family at a very young age ). Once the new place is built we have to demolish the old house (by order of the council), so we have a lot of work ahead of us.
