Hi All,
Just found this site the other day and am already finding it hard not to log on a couple of times a day to see whats happening.
We (my wife, 2 year old son and i) found a block in a new estate in Gumdale and instantly knew it was the one. We immediately finalised the bits and pieces on our post war after 6 years of fully renovating the whole thing from start to finish our selves and put it on the market and sold it the day it was listed. Cant help but wonder if we sold it too cheap.
The block is now registered and is ours and we are in a rental 2 minutes drive from 'the land'.
I am a trade qualified cabinetmaker (but no longer in the industry) and manage a signage installation and building maintenance company, so have my finger on the pulse of the building industry and all associated trades.
After looking through every second display village in SE qld we couldn't find a layout that suited our requirements so decided we'd DIY and go owner builder.
The father in law is a builder and has agreed to manage our project and mates (electricians, cabinetmakers, plumbers etc.) and i will do what we can when it suits.
We have just finalised our rough plan and are starting to put together the pricing now so, its all go from here on.
Look forward to hearing all about all your projects.
