Hello!!! I just found this forum and it looks like it might come in handy over the next x-number of years...
I lived in a flat by myself when I first moved out of home, but after two years I decided to buy a house rather than keep flushing rent money down the toilet. I bought a nice little 3 bedroom place... a bit old and obviously needing work, but I was on my own and it was all I needed, and the best I could afford.
Circumstances have changed a bit since then... I'm now married and have two young children. We still live in that nice little 3 bedroom place, only now it's bursting at the seams with all our stuff, and slowly but surely starting to fall apart. I'm a stay-at-home mum, and with only one income, this house would probably fall down completely by the time we could save to buy a bigger place.
So we've bitten the bullet and decided we're going to have to renovate. This place needs so much work that we'll have to do it in stages, saving for each stage as we go. It's going to take a while... I just hope it will be worth all the effort!
Kylie.
