Browse Forums Move Management 1 May 14, 2008 11:11 pm I'd like to provide all forum members with a recommendation for a removalist. We just moved house and engaged Peter Sadler Transport to move our belongings.
We received about four quotes for the job Peter Sadler and they compared well with the other quotations. Prudence Sadler visited our home. She was courteous and provided my wife all the information on the move process that she requested, and provided additional follow up as required. Other companies adopted a more "trust us we are the professionals approach" with very little explanation. Packing materials were provided in about 48 hours with follow up requests for materials provided in similar order. Four chaps arrived today in two trucks exactly on time. The team were polite, good humored, patient with our 4 year old (who couldn't keep from getting under feet), and courteous. Importantly, as my 4 year old picks up enough from his father there was no "blue" language. The vehicles were exceptionally clean and as we were on a relatively busy road they were careful to consider their impact on traffic. Goods were packed and unpacked efficiently and without damage. The team leader even pointed something out to us on the cot which he thought was a rub mark but was actually a sanded down gnaw mark from Number 1 son. They even helped us mount the dryer on the wall. The move was carried out for the quoted price and the estimate of packing materials and truck volume was spot on. So I provide an unsolicited recommendation for this company. Today, I heard from a lady who's carpets I cleaned last week. She had the removalists in yesterday, and the carpets need cleaning again! To be fair, it would have been a nightmare for them. It was a wet day, and the carpark was about 40m from the door, and only access was a winding path lined by gardens. So their trolleys and feet would have picked up all the crap on the way in. Wouldn't have been easy to manage. Really, to move a houseful of stuff with no damage is a big achievement. Moving heavy gear of all shapes and sizes in and out of narrow doorways and all that has to be difficult task. So good to hear you had a good experience, TDL! Ash. Re: Recommendation for Removalist (Victoria) 5May 19, 2011 3:45 pm Thanks for the advice. Much Appreciated. Ive never tried that company, but I have used quite a few removalists over the years as I often move from city to city and state to state for my work. Last company I used service Melbourne also and they are very good. Theyre called Fragile Removals http://www.fragileremovals.com.au/ Otherwise you can visit a website called Compare Quotes which lets you enter your suburb and then it finds quotes for you from removalists in that are, its very handy http://www.comparequotes.net.au/ .
