Browse Forums Move Management 1 Sep 03, 2010 3:08 pm With only a week to go until handover, I'm hoping the lovely Homeone members can recommend a furniture removalist. Either in the Northern or Western suburbs of Melbourne. Hopefully it's one less thing I need to organise Any recomendations would be greatly appreciated. Dear J.K. Rowling, Your books are entirely unrealistic. I mean, a ginger kid with two friends? Sincerely, Anonymous Re: Removalist Recommendations in Melbourne 2Sep 03, 2010 4:44 pm Congratulations on hand over. We used Arrow Removals, 52 Webber Pde, Keilor East. Phone: 9336 3822. They moved us to our current rental whilst we rebuild. Good rates and turned up on time, and didn't wreck our furniture. If you use them please let me know how you go as I intend to use them when we move home when the re build is finished. Also look in the Yellow Pages. There are plenty of Removalists to compare. Re: Removalist Recommendations in Melbourne 4Sep 03, 2010 5:32 pm Most removalists charge per hour. Before you pick a removalist, ask them these questions : 1) Do you charge for the time for driving your truck from your depot to my old house before you start the job ? 2) Do you charge for the time for driving your truck from my new house back to your depot after you have finished the job ? If they answer yes at least one of the questions, don't hire them. They must answer NO to both questions, for them to be shortlisted by you. Re: Removalist Recommendations in Melbourne 5Sep 03, 2010 6:49 pm Thanks for the advice, we haven't moved in a while, and it's always good to refresh your memory. Thanks Dove, i've got a list of potential movers, but was hoping someone may have used a company that the would recommend, but will give them a buzz and check them out. Thanks upsydaisy, i'll give them a call too. Dear J.K. Rowling, Your books are entirely unrealistic. I mean, a ginger kid with two friends? I wont go into details, but lets say that It was a horrible moving experience and I urge you to look elsewhere, unless you don't mind having the trouble Dear J.K. So sorry, you had a bad time, nothing worse, moving is bad enough without that sort of trouble. Re: Removalist Recommendations in Melbourne 16Sep 30, 2010 9:56 am The Little Misses Don't use them. We used them yesterday too! And I had a horrible moving experience too! Definitely will never use them again. They have one of the cheapest rate in the market, but it's totally not worth it!! I should have check on this thread before going ahead with the move with them Signed: June 2010 | Settlement: September 2010 | Moved in: October 2010 Re: Removalist Recommendations in Melbourne 17Sep 30, 2010 4:17 pm bunnywabbit The Little Misses Don't use them. I am so glad that we have had time to cancel them. The website looked great and the price was good. We have had another quote $159.00 per hour for the biggest truck, prob worth paying the extra I think. With a lot of the review sites, it would be quite easy for companies to review themselves to gain customers, so I'm not sure how much weight they hold. I'm sorry about your move Bunny Dear J.K.
