Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 Feb 25, 2020 12:08 pm Hi guys I just had a heated argument with the manager at Sasco. We just bought a new home. The house is only 4 months old The previous owners built it then put it on the market after 3 months. So the house is still very new There's an issue with the security door which the door stop has split the door frame installed by Sasco I called the company and showed the a photo of the split caused by the screws from the door stop. The door is a very large door so its quiete heavy The manager is denying any responsibility from the damage and is blaming the timber. Saying the timber the builder used is wrong I tried to get an invoice from the previous owner but he cannot find it. But just told me the company name The manager at Sasco wont even look up an address to find the invoice and doesnt want me to have it. Even if I do not ask him to fix it, he still is require to give me an invoice for warranty of the door Any ideas what else to do? Spewing I should just asked for the invoice first Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Sasco Installed door split door frame but denying it 2Feb 28, 2020 1:02 pm The heated argument won't help. I don't see how attaching the door closer could have caused the big split. In any case, yes, the timber shouldn't have split, but these things happen. I would just use builders' bog, sand and paint. It's not worth the heat... I wonder if the door has been opened too far and the closer has pulled itself loose in the timber. The reason for the heated argument is because the guy was the most arrogant person I have ever spoken to. He would ask me a question and then about 5 seconds into my answer he kept cutting me off talking over me giving his own answer. anyway aside from if the security door did it or not. He should still give me an invoice for warranty reasons which he flat out said no Re: Sasco Installed door split door frame but denying it 4Feb 28, 2020 5:04 pm It's quite possible that the warranty is not transferable. That said however it seems that the installation wasn't done properly. Guessing that there wasn't any pilot holes drilled.
well done 4 1246 ![]() For the Multifold door I had a look into this option - https://www.humedoors.com.au/door-systems#23 However I am not sure how it would look like for a 3.6mts width. Also… 6 997 I've never seen silicone go yellow, but they could also use a grey silicone to match the tile. 5 1219 |
