Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 Sep 29, 2019 11:27 am Hi all, I'm just curious what other people have experienced with sliding doors, and whether or not the actual sliding panel is located on the internal or external face of the door unit? Reason I ask is we get a fair amount of dirt etc coming onto the tracks, and my logic is if our opening panel was external (so when you opened it it slides on the outside of the fixed panel).....then this would seal better? Anyhow not sure what is normal, but thought I would ask you all. This is a pic of our 3 panel sliding door (2 fixed panels and 1 opening panel). As you can see the opening panel slides on the internal side tracks.Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ --------------------------------------------------------------------- Check our Homeone build blog here Re: Sliding Door - single opening panel normally internal? 2Sep 29, 2019 2:58 pm Hi Darb. But having said that I think I would still choose this style if I had my time over again.
