Hi All
We're having five metres of timber bifolds installed in our living room, and they are going to be painted white (much to our builder's dismay!).
Now, the frame will also be white, but the kick at the base of the frame (or tread), is proposed to be stained for two reasons:
1. timber floors will but up against it; anf
2. I figure it will stay looking better for longer.
Originally Stegbar said it could be a jarrah tread (pretty close to our karri floors), but now they said it will be cedar.
I would have thought cedar would be too soft for a tread, and also Stegbar thinks we're bizarre for wanting different colour tread to the frame.
Anyone have any comments on what would look best, wear best, or have any experiences?
Thanks
