Windows & Doors

Good evening all
Just purchased an investment property (just waiting on settlement), and am preparing as much as I can for a 4 week renovation.
In regards to the windows in the property:
-I believe the old latch handles are brass - can anyone please confirm and advise on the best way to strip the paint and polish them; and
-What's the best way to strip the paint from the actual steel windows - paint stripper or sand?
Appreciate any assistance.
