What do I need to consider here? (Window height / type/ placing between studs or needing posts etc.) House will be timber on posts. Don't want to suggest plans then find out I'm going to need all kinds of steel etc to make it work. First post! Thank you. I'm not a builder, but I would suggest they could be as close as the smallest stud suitable to carry the weight of the lintel and roof/second storey load above. If you have long expanses of windows or corner windows you will need a more substantial lintel and thus a more substantial stud. The one to answer the question would be an engineer who will be required to draw up the engineering plans after your draftsman has drawn up your design. Contraction joints are at 3m max for a 125 slab. Thanks 0 10948 that will depend on the kitchen bench depth. you'll have to specify it so it allows for both the tap and the sink 1 7401 |
