Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 Jun 03, 2018 3:48 pm Homeowner here trying to DIY change a door handle, and need some locksmith advice. I currently have a Passage door handle, and want to change to an Entry Lock. I've taken off the handle and see that there is already an Oval cylinder hole drilled into the door frame. What I'm unsure of: 1. How to check if the current mortice supports locking? 2. If a new lockable mortice is required, how do I remove the current mortice from the door (it's bigger than the faceplate/latch, and can't be pulled out from the same hole). 3. How to check which cam is needed for an Oval cylinder to work with the mortice? Thanks for your kind assistance.
