Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 May 03, 2018 9:58 am Hi Homeone members, I'm about to start a renovation and want to source secondhand aluminium windows to keep costs down if possible. I've found some aluminium sliding doors that are 2040mm High. The building plans specify the sliding doors as 1950mm High (first pic below). but the roofline looks to be 2130mm high from the plans (page 5)... am I able to make the 2040mm high sliding doors work if I bought them? Your advice much appreciated. It’s a renovation of an existing dwelling. To lift the ceiling would be too costly. Re: sourcing aluminium sliding doors 5May 04, 2018 6:55 am JB1 If there are existing ceilings, why not measure it, rather than guess from a drawing? Re: sourcing aluminium sliding doors 6May 04, 2018 9:47 am Hi The drawings are missing some detailed information. But the eaves are in line with the head of the door, so you are limited by that. Anything higher will behind the eaves. I think that unless I’m v lucky to source doors of the specified size I’ll have to budget for new ones. It is a shed conversion and the ceiling is very low. I appreciate that clarification ECOECO and as the build starts I’m sure this forum will be valuable and perhaps I can share the journey with others and maybe even contribute too one day👍🏼 Re: sourcing aluminium sliding doors 8May 04, 2018 12:25 pm Glenda Ann Thank you, that’s answered my question.
