Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 Apr 24, 2018 9:47 pm Can anyone recommend a really good window supplier in Sydney? We recently used a company called ... and the powder coating was shocking with alot of scratches and peeling (mind you we visited his warehouse and he showed us brand new good quality products he uses but came with shocking products when he came to install (and yes contract stated 7yrs warranty and products are to be brand new and free from imperfections or markings) but he was nt acknowledging this and kept making excuses) he then used spray paint to cover up, then denied using spray paint and said thats how they come (when my husband seen him spraying) then when i asked to have the frames replaced he said he doesnt have time and his paint specialist said there is nothing wrong with them. We Wasted 3 hrs arguing to finally have an agreement where he would replace the damaged frame and then came back a few days later and found majority of all the 9 window frames which he installed had been damaged and entire frames sprayed with spray paint (after specifically telling him to bring only new products and no spraying) and he was still denying he did so. My husband and I ended up kicking him off site and getting our deposit back. Now the renos are on hold until we find a window company.
Has anyone used or heard of uPVC windows and if so, can you recommend a company and what are the pros and cons? Im scared to use powder coated windows because of this bad experience UNLESS someone can highly recommend a good company that does very good powder coating and a great job!! Any help at all would be appreciated!
Re: Any suggestions for window suppliers 2Apr 29, 2018 2:23 pm Hi Anthony, Sounds like you have had a run around. Powdercoat is excellent 99% of the time, all it needs is a qualified powdercoating company, and quality powder. I hardly ever see problems, and when there are any, they are never extensive and they can be repaired onsite with wet coat. We supply aluminium windows in Melbourne, I have over 20 years in the industry, and I have supplied uPVC as well for 10 years. IMO stick with aluminium, after all powdercoating is also plastic, just like PVC, but it does not come with the issues. If it bothers you, call a powdercoater and ask him who he supplies.
