Re: Opinions & Reviews Wanted - Window Tinting (after) New H 3Mar 05, 2018 12:05 pm ![]() Its not tinting that makes a difference you need to use a reflective film. We found that it can easily drop the temperature by 4-5 degrees within minutes of being installed. We used Tint-a-Car. Sorry no recent prices as it was over 10 years ago. Thanks very much for the info! Will definitely look into this! I had read that this causes issues for neighbours in built up areas, but as we are on a 3 acre parcel of land I think something like this should be ok for us. Thanks again! ![]() Re: Opinions & Reviews Wanted - Window Tinting (after) New H 5Mar 08, 2018 8:56 am We used tinting - the strongest - on our West wall windows - for both heat and privacy. I feel it does work - but is only part of the package. We also draw the blinds when the sun comes around. I feel an awning would be better - but much more expensive - especially if you went for a decent one - ie moving. Louvres are also an option - but again can be costly. A good extraction device is another answer. Whirligigs in the roof etc - to get the air out. I see they have solar powered ones now to really move it out fast. BUT - nothing really compensates for the heat accumulated by metres of brick walls ... ![]() Bushes/trees will break the sun before it hits the house - perhaps the best way to stop it. Re: Opinions & Reviews Wanted - Window Tinting (after) New H 6Mar 08, 2018 9:06 am We used https://www.windowtint.com.au/ in Qld - but they are in various locations I believe. The franchise we used was very good. They might give you an idea on price regardless of whether they are in your area.
