Hi, New user here with a door problem (Yeah I can here the groans of "Here we go again"), please hear me out.
The house is of old Housing Tasmania design. The previous owners had a doorway from the hallway (Front entry when you enter the house) in to the kitchen.
I do not know why, but they blocked it off, and sealed it up (To me, the kitchen entry from the front door is better for bringing shopping home).
Annnnnnny way. I found old plans to the house, there WAS a door there. Cool, I kick in the panels, find the replacement frame they stuck in the doorway before sealing it up, I rip it out.
I find the old house frame in the wall. Pack it out, hang a door.
So what is the problem (Get on with it !!!!!!!!!!!!!).
The opposite side (Door handle side) there is a gap larger at the top, than the bottom.
Yeah okay, something is not straight... Spirit level time. Check the door frame, Square, all sides, top, floor, all SQUARE to the spirit level........, Check the door, Top, Both sides, ALL SQUARE and level, the door measures the same top and bottom yet there is a gap at the top, where it doesn't sit flush like the bottom, the difference is 5mm, top has a gap of about 5mm.
I cannot figure out why the spirit is saying all is square, but there is the obvious gap differential.
