Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 Aug 05, 2017 9:40 am I'm hoping someone might have some advice about how to block off a section of window to improve thermal performance. There are three bedrooms on the south side of the house with windows the same as the second picture. Given the windows are quite large, and the lower part isn't really needed for light, I would like to cover up the lower section. I'd like the job to be quick and cheap. I'm thinking I'll leave the glass there for the meantime. Might permanently remove it and clad the exterior in the future. I'm wondering whether there'd be something easier than insulation, covered by plasterboard cut to size and held in with quad moulding? I don't know if your windows are bigger than code requires, even if they are I can't really believe reducing the light by 50% would be to code. got it. thanks.
