Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 May 08, 2017 10:43 pm Hi, I have a 1930's 2 story house with wooden frame windows (type where you turn the knob for them to open from the bottom). Pretty sure they are the original windows. There is a main road at the front of the house and it is quite noisey. Also, it is very cold! I have read quite a bit on not putting modern windows into the house as they just may not suit the style etc. Any thoughts on what to do? Will chat with the http://www.magnetite.com.au/ people. We had timber windows and the house was on a main road (we've since sold the house and moved. I'd say the room was about 50% quieter once the the Magnetite was installed and the noise we did hear would have come from the front door located next to our bedroom. We went this route as it was cost effective solution. It was a pain to open the windows as you would have to remove the Magnetite to access the window but I'm sure they have better products now and it was worth the effort given how well they performed.
