Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 Apr 15, 2017 2:24 pm Hi there, I'm trying to find out why people don't tend to use floor to ceiling doors (e.g. Into lounge, bedroom, bathroom) and cupboards (e.g. In kitchens). In my opinion they look so much nicer. Is it a cost thing? If yes, does anyone have any idea is the cost just in the additional cost of door? Or is also extra difficult to install? Any information on this would be much appreciated. Thanks Re: Floor to ceiling doors (into rooms, and cupboards 2Apr 15, 2017 2:39 pm I have all 2340 height doors which sit 20cms below ceiling cornice with 12 cm architraves, carpentry cost me the same and doors were a little more with 4 routed lines down doors as a feature, I got a incredible deal on doors direct from Hume, saved me $100 per door for 22 doors, I could only do this as project manager was running my owner build, with a best quality, better price job focus. So it's only a marginal price increase but volume boys will go to town on this, better to negotiate it before signing contracts, or your forced to pay what ever they want. Re: Floor to ceiling doors (into rooms, and cupboards 3May 26, 2017 8:20 am As we found out having 2340 doors is a structural thing so if it's not discussed at the time of doing your building contract it's not put in your master plans. We had to pay a $500 fee to change it as we thought it was something we chose at selections. That was something we were non-negotiatable on though as it makes rooms look so much bigger and it gives a classier look overall. It's purely a profit thing. 8 6137 They make the room much easier to clean for one, reflect more light (if light colour tiles are used), and you dont end up with dust on the top edge of tiles (cause most… 3 9591 Hi, Can anyone give me approx. price for overhead cupboards.
