Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 Feb 13, 2017 8:50 pm Hi all, i bought a house that is nearing completion and its is exactly what i wanted to have built myself except for one thing! The main entry door isnt as large as i wanted. The house has a wide hallway and also has taller ceilings, the door the builder used didnt use the space as much as i would have liked. My question is if my doorway is wide and tall and the builder used a narrow door with a glass panel next to it, will it be possible to remove and install a wider door or possibly a nice sturdy pivot door? Re: Pivot door after handover? 2Feb 14, 2017 8:39 am The opening will most likely have a lintel over it supporting roof loads. If you keep the same overall width as the existing frame (or smaller) then there shouldn't be any issue.
