Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 Dec 05, 2016 7:01 am We have a Burbank built house that was completed in early 2013. The windows were supplied by EcoClassic (who appear to be no longer trading). They are aluminium framed windows. A few weeks ago one of the awning windows shattered suddenly. No one was near it. It was the interior pane that broke so it wasn't due to a ball strike or similar. The glass stayed in the window but will need to be replaced. The replacement cost is $360. Then this weekend, another unit suddenly broke. It was also the interior pane. This one was a fixed glazing unit that formed the fixed section of a sliding door. Again no one was near it and it's in a corner that does not see much traffic. I dread to think what this one will cost to replace as it's a floor to ceiling sheet. We've decided to hold off on replacing this glass for a month or so to see if any other windows break. I'm worried that I'm doing something wrong. We don't have pets or children who could have knocked the windows. Can anyone offer any advice?
