I've seen arguments for both. My feeling is sliding windows would be stronger simply because the panes are framed around the whole perimeter but I've seen reference to a report where the sliding window weep holes allowed water ingress during high winds. Does anyone have direct experience or an "authoritive" / "expert" conclusion ? You need to see the test report from the tested window/louvre. It will tell you everything.
