Not only will reduce noise but thermally beneficial too! Personally I'd go higher than the minimum required. KDR - Under the Flight Path (Dennis Family Homes) Actually the total thickness of glass makes the biggest difference in noise attenuation. Argon, gap size and laminate are just tweaks. So double glazing is a 2 fold benefit, being acoustic and energy improvement. I prefer to see the acoustic report as there are many ways to reach the Rw (attenuation) requirement, and the prescriptive approach is usually expensive, and ignores window performance.
