Hi
We have an aluminium hinged door in our laundry. The house is still in the construction stage and the frame has not been installed.
Now the designer was supposed to have it opening inwards but it was drawn opening outwards, which we missed. We asked the builder if we could have it opening inwards as the frame was sitting there and to me it looked like you could just reverse it so it opened inwards (It is a Vantage Residential hinged door). Anyway he gave a big spiel about how it would take 2 days to fix as you have to pull the frame apart back at the suppliers and change this and that and that would cost about $500. While we were a bit stunned at the cost we asked him to raise a variation for the change.
Anyway, I took a look at the frame after we had talked and had a good look at it, to me it looked like it could be reversed.
So the frame was in the same spot everyday for a few days, then the cladding started and installing the frames for door and windows. So the frame moved over to the laundry and still hadn't left site as of Wednesday night. Then last night it has been installed in reverse like I thought it could be. And the frame didn't go anywhere as I have been there everyday and taking note.
Is the builder taking the p@$s? The frame is a Vantage residential Hinged door if anyone has any experience with these.
cheers
