I'm looking for ideas about getting curtain tracking for our new house. We're looking at doing fairly tall hand-pull curtains, so the track needs to be quite free-flowing. I've looked at the basic tracks they sell and Spotlight, Bunnings etc, and it seems to mainly be the side-opening pressed metal track, with plastic hooks for gliders. These don't seem all that great at movement.
Then I have also seen some of the bottom-entry aluminium extruded track with wheeled runners. This is more like hospital curtain track, and looks like it would work significantly better. However, it looks to be more commercially oriented and not so much directly available to the public. I'm thinking ideally to find somewhere I can just order the extrusion section by the length, plus the quantity of end caps, joiners and runners. Are there places that will do this without charging the full-service markup?
I'm surprised there doesn't seem to me much talk on these forums about curtain tracking systems, so I'm wondering if I'm missing something obvious.
