Hi all.
I'm about to attempt to install a new sliding door behind an existing door jamb. It is in a standard 1950s type home. Nothing out of the ordinary.
I want to buy a new door and rail system at my local Bunnings. The door is the standard cheap hollow core door. The problem I have is all of the doors there don't have the slot through the bottom of the door which the door glide is supposed to go through to keep the bottom of the door in position.
Am I right in thinking that I am supposed to put that slot in myself? I am thinking that running a circular saw along the bottom length of the door is the method I should be using (using a good guide system of course). Do I need to worry about hitting nails or staples along the bottom of the door if I cut into the door about 25mm.
