Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 Oct 23, 2015 2:56 pm Hi all, I am in the final throes of locking down the specifications on our new custom build project working with our Architect which is for a double story modern flat roof home. The home has been designed to maximise the views on offer and has a total window area of 130m2. In order to minimise disruption to the view I am sold on specifying aluminium Aneeta ClearStep double glazed sashless windows for all our opening windows, however around 40% of our windows are fixed panel and Aneeta do not do a fixed panel window it seems. Currently we are at energy assessment stage and we have been struggling to achieve the six stars, the home's current weakness appears to be related to heat loss due to the large percentage of floor to ceiling glazing in the home. Although the Aneeta windows are great from some aspects their WERS performance is not outstanding and currently they do not appear to offer thermally broken options for windows, only doors. Thus for the fixed panel windows it looks like I may have to resort to thermally broken aluminium frames in order to get the R value of the house up and over six stars (we are close though currently @ 5.5). We have well and truly stuffed insulation into every cavity and are using Loxo AAC for the external wall cladding. The advice I am seeking is whether anyone else has installed Aneeta aluminium double glazing before and what brand fixed panel windows and doors did you successfully match with your Aneeta windows? If this is not a common thing then perhaps recommendations on reasonably priced (for TB of course! ) brands of aluminium thermally broken double glazing suppliers in VIC would also be good to hear about please? I have been looking at Thermeco as one example but not sure if these will match with Aneeta sashless or as to how expensive they are (they look expensive)...
