Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 Sep 27, 2015 12:42 am Hi all, I asked my builder to provide me with a 1200 entry door, which they did and charged me about $800 which was not bad. Although I noticed it when I signed the quote, the meaning did not really sink in. They have a note on the line item for the door stating that it is hinged and that the door should be installed on a pivot system and installing it any other way voids the warranty. Why this did not sink in with me, I just don't know. Anyway, the question I have is that I have seen many 1200 doors in display homes mounted on hinges. Is it worth shelling out for the Pivot system or will the hinges suffice? As a guide, how much extra should I pay for a pivot system? Thanks!
