Re: Is this door Not secured enuf? 4Sep 14, 2015 10:10 pm To be honest they will get in if they want. Also in an emergency you may be trapped in you own house because the door is locked. Personal opinion of course but they dont look too flash either Re: Is this door Not secured enuf? 5Sep 16, 2015 2:26 am AussieMark Why live in a prison. if they want to break in they will. Re: Is this door Not secured enuf? 8Sep 16, 2015 10:58 am Maybe add a deadbolt to the mix but make sure you can get out in an emergency without looking around for a key. You must be able to exit in an emergency. The centre timber between door and side light is a weak spot. Chat with a locksmith. Re: Is this door Not secured enuf? 9Sep 16, 2015 11:03 am yeah, security screen door is not going to make much of a difference.... of course for someone to break in via this door, they will be making a lot of noise with the glass breaking, so chances are is that they'll find some other way of getting in to your house instead... i.e. via a back window, through the tiled roof, etc. Owner Building at Jimboomba Woods in Logan City Qld. Re: Is this door Not secured enuf? 12Jan 29, 2016 2:24 pm I would think that the glass pane to the right of your front door is more of a security issue than the door itself. Do you know what glass has been used (in both the right-hand pane and in the door panel itself)? Perhaps you can get it changed to toughened or laminated glass, which is much harder to break (although if someone really wants to get in they will). As for the door itself, perhaps a deadbolt of some kind as other answers have suggested. Re: Is this door Not secured enuf? 13Jan 29, 2016 2:41 pm Typically glass doors are made from toughened glass whereas the window along side the door may only be standard float glass. The weakest entry point will be the window. The window is also larger so it might be possible to squeeze through the window but the glass in the door appears to be too narrow.
