We've got a hallway that comes off the kitchen and leads to the minor bedrooms and laundry, main bath etc. We'd like to close it off to keep a bit of noise out of the kids rooms in the morning/at night, and also to stop the sensor nightlights in their hallway going on every time we walk to the fridge.
Having built with a volume builder we of course don't have a door to close it off. We didn't pick it up until it was too late to add a cavity slider so figured no big deal, we'll just do something after handover. Its proving more difficult than I imagined. Because its so high (its not a doorway as such, just an opening with a small bulkhead) and wide standard sizes don't fit.
Anyone got any ideas, or leads on a good door place to check out online (or in geelong/melbs)? Our current front running idea is to make a barn door to fit, however I'm a bit concerned it'll date horribly.
