If your issue is privacy you can certainly get a frosted film - not contact - it will be hard to fit and won't be UV safe. Most tint people do this at around $65/m2 (min $150) or you can buy it off eBay. I did and I fitted it - no problem. If it's security - then have security screens fitted (same as a security door) to the side lights. Use one way mesh for privacy.
