Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 Oct 30, 2014 12:10 pm I am currently about to build in Sydney's North West and have hit a hurdle trying to decide my windows on the west elevation, which is also the front of the house. Currently we have specified double glazed clear windows on the western side, and single low E on the other three sides. After speaking to a window supplier, he suggested we ditch the clear double glazed glass, and go for a single glazed Low E with tint, as this will help stop the hot western sun heating up the rooms. ( i realise dbl glazed with low e would be optimal, but i am trying to save costs on the windows, as the budget is already over $100k. Many Thanks Re: Window glass suggestions 2Oct 30, 2014 1:36 pm You want to save money... Ditch low-E on South and East... If you can afford it get double glazed all round including low-E to North and West, if not... just low-E to North and West.
