Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 Aug 27, 2014 1:34 pm Hi All - any thoughts on white v silver/grey v black window frames? We are building and our windows are aluminium. Our other external colours are light grey bricks, white render/cladding and shale grey roof. Pictures would be REALLY appreciated. Re: ALUMINIUM WINDOW COLOURS 2Aug 27, 2014 2:45 pm We are having dark bricks and a dark roof and have gone with Monument windows so that the the frames blend in. We thought that anything lighter would just make the frame stick out too much. Re: ALUMINIUM WINDOW COLOURS 4Aug 27, 2014 4:51 pm Thanks guys. Our external colours are all really light grey so grey would blend in, but black and white would be perhaps break it up a bit.... Decisions... Re: ALUMINIUM WINDOW COLOURS 6Aug 29, 2014 12:20 pm I've got ultra silver gloss aluminum frames and a white and grey colour scheme. Couldn't be happier with the look. Re: ALUMINIUM WINDOW COLOURS 7Aug 29, 2014 1:24 pm you might want to have a play on www.colourtouch.com.au That's what we used to experiment with colours, gave us a resonable idea of how things would look. Re: ALUMINIUM WINDOW COLOURS 8Aug 29, 2014 1:44 pm We went with grey for our window frames. We have a very light grey internal paint/trim and grey/white tiles. The only exception is the front of the house where we went with timber windows to match our pivot door and wood look garage door. I have a photo of the facade up on my blog, and I'll try to upload some pics of the internal windows for you - just no internet connection at home yet so it will be a couple of days... Monument also is the colour of our down pipes and fascia. Gutters and room are shale grey, we have Boral Mocha bricks and mole grey render Sent from my iPhone using ones and zeros and 4G Re: ALUMINIUM WINDOW COLOURS 10Aug 30, 2014 1:32 pm I'm a fan of black frames as it's a bit more classic but also a look we are after. I searched on Houzz for "black windows" before making a decision. Matt1 I hadn't played with colour touch for a while (colorbond also has one) but I had fun mocking up our colours (sans the roof as we are going colorbond) Re: ALUMINIUM WINDOW COLOURS 11Aug 30, 2014 3:14 pm Hi butterflyjulz. I chose a darker grey to match up with the woodland grey roof. It looks great on the outside but in hindsight (always wiser!) I would choose the silver lustre colour as I hadn't thought about the fact that I had to live with the colour on the inside as well. It goes with everything and is light and bright. We have currently selected surfmist windows to pop against our PGH Moon Dust bricks and surfmist cladding and wallaby render and cladding above the garage, surfmist front door. I will try and post a pic of our fascade but it sounds like Colour Touch will be good to visualise too! Re: ALUMINIUM WINDOW COLOURS 13Sep 16, 2014 4:25 pm Hopefully this pic works - this is our fascade. The area aroud the garage will be Wallaby, the garage itself surmist. Bricks PGH Moon Dust and cladding above windows and fascia, gutter and roof also surfmist. Q = will surfmist windows stand out too much or should we go a grey...
