Hi JB1, would you be able to post a picture of your pivotless door?
I'm planing a custom build, my builder is also a carpenter by trade and I want a 2340mx1200 door that is swing too. We want to paint it plain and then get a feature laser cut screen as the house feature.
If I told him you use KH 100 75 PSSS
Will he know what I'm talking about?
TIA!
I'm not at home so can't take a proper photo and will probably forget when I get home. Here is the only photo I have Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅
I actually gave you the wrong info, I used 4 x Vinco Stainless Steel SSH1003B-F 100x75x3mm Ball Bearing fixed hinges. They are ball bearing and very good quality, they feel like they will last forever and have no problems holding the door or sagging after 2 years (just look at the hinge itself). I paid $12 each according to my invoice.
I got them from Sydney Central Locksmiths - http://www.scllocks.com.au/ great service and good prices.
They don't list the Vinco SSH1003B-F on their website anymore, but call them up and they will supply you with quality hinges and door hardware.
Your carpenter wont know the exact model number, but will probably have a good idea if you say 100x75x3mm Stainless Steel Ball Bearing fixed hinges. You need to supply it to him anyway.
PS, I used the KH 100 75 PSSS which is a cheaper ball bearing hinge, but more than adequate on my (standard width/weight) glass doors. But certainly not as good as the SSH1003B-F for a solid 2340x1200mm door.
Good luck.
