We switched to a wider brand of stacker doors in our dining room and these don't come with insect screens. The verdict is that we need insect screens but I don't want to obstruct the view with clunky screens, etc. I've been looking at Centor screens but aren't yet convinced that they'll work with our dining room design. The screens have a ~100x100cm box at either end of the window frame and the column between our two sets of stacker doors is only 230mm square. I believe that they can still be installed but I'm worried about obstructing access to opening the stacker doors and a bulky addition to the column. Please take a look at our dining room plan and let me know if you have any suggestions. From here: http://www.freedomscreens.com.au/ Perhaps the only issue is that they are on the inside of the wooden doors - not outside - but you get use to this. The "column/" that holds the blinds/screens is quite small and hardly noticeable. Quite happy with result. We wouldn't use any other screen - especially for corner stackers Re: Insect screens for tricky stacker door situation 6Jul 18, 2014 6:16 pm Like Saint Mike, we installed Freedom Screens, but instead of putting them on the doors we put them around the alfresco. When the first flies appear we pull them across, leaving a small gap for the dog to come and go, then put them away months later when the weather cools. http://i1055.photobucket.com/albums/s507/grumblebum54/018a_zps2a8b445b.jpg If you look at the left screen you can see the canister that the screens roll into attached to the bricks, not very big at all. http://i1055.photobucket.com/albums/s507/grumblebum54/04-Sandstone2a_zps5beab23f.jpg Regards, Grumbles Re: Insect screens for tricky stacker door situation 7Jul 18, 2014 9:45 pm Thanks Lacey and Grumblebum. Looks like those Freedom screens can easily be retrofitted if installed on the outside of the window. Now I've got some options. Thanks everyone. http://www.housebythewater.wordpress.com From blank block to new home in Mandurah, Western Australia. viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65564 Re: Insect screens for tricky stacker door situation 8Jul 19, 2014 8:27 am grumblebum54 Like Saint Mike, we installed Freedom Screens, but instead of putting them on the doors we put them around the alfresco.
