Low-e on east facing window

Hi all, I am renovating and will be putting a 2200w x 1000h window in the east facing kitchen.

I am going for double glazed timber window. Is it worthwhile upgrading to include low-e as well? Not sure if it is a good idea for a east facing window in Melbourne. I don't want to lose sun's warmth in winter, but then again not sure if I will regret not installing low-e in summer. Upgrade price is not much difference.

I will appreciate any advice.

Thanks,
Nish
You don't get much warmth from an East facing window in winter in Melboure an hour or two at the most.

Keeping the summer heat is well worth it especially if there is not much cost difference.
Thanks. Will just go low e then.
Hi nish,

will you be able to tell me the price for the e window and the supplier name. I am in the process of starting to build a house in Sydney.
Your help will be much appreciated

Thanks

Skylight facing west, sufficient light in mornings?

General Discussion

It might be a bit darker in the mornings but the light is still light, so you should be getting it. Similar to what you see from your western windows
