Hi guys, just a quick question. My builder surprise surprise has made a stuff up and we are a 2 window frames short for our build and the wrong double sliding door to alfresco has been provided. The bricklayers have been working over christmas so as you can imagine the brickwork has got to the point where they can only avoid those locations for so much longer. Anyway the supervisor is saying they will brick up the areas effected as if the frames were in lintels and all, and then have the 2 window frames and sliding door installed later as to not stop the bricklayers.
The supervisor assures me that there is no issue structurally in doing it this way, more that it's just obviously more work to do *there problem not mine* The way i see it this is no different than if you were doing a reno and changing door frames or windows ect. But i'm no expert so if anyone can enlighten me, is the builder just trying to do the dodge or will the windows and more specifically the sliding door be just as structurally sound as if they had of been bricked in the first place.
