Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 Aug 01, 2013 1:25 pm We recently had a new home built with 11 x long slimline double-hung windows installed with crimsafe top and bottom. So, my dilemma now 4 months on is that I can't clean the outside of my windows at all. Does anyone have any solutions to cleaning my outside windows, short of getting the glass company back to temporarily remove my crimsafe so that I can access the glass? Thanks! Re: Problem with Double-hung Windows and Crimsafe 2Aug 08, 2013 4:47 pm Great question MissT, We're wondering the same thing ourselves and the best we can come up with is hosing them down with a cleaning solution when you're cleaning the crimsafe. So we're thinking about not having them for the same difficulty you've just found. Security is one of our big questions, so many options you could really fortify your home but we're not sure how far to go. Re: Problem with Double-hung Windows and Crimsafe 3Aug 08, 2013 4:51 pm Agree - why not use one of those spray on / spray off formulas and just hose it. Re: Problem with Double-hung Windows and Crimsafe 5Aug 17, 2013 4:28 pm Depending on how space you have between the glass and the screen, you should do a search for a magnetic window cleaner. http://camdenbuild.blogspot.com.au/ by invite only please pm me Re: Problem with Double-hung Windows and Crimsafe 6Aug 20, 2013 8:06 am I cant help with a cleaning solution but thanks for the info! I was thinking double hung windows may be a nice change from sliders but windows are painful enough to clean without any more added trouble. Hope you find the solution! Re: Problem with Double-hung Windows and Crimsafe 7Sep 16, 2013 9:04 pm I have that problem in my current house at the moment. After years of looking at the dirt outside, I decided to unscrew the security grill, cleaned the window and screwed it back. It's not a monthly exercise that you want to go through, but now I can see the outside clearly. We are in the middle of planning to build a new house at the moment and found a double hung window that you can detach from its frame. Definitely will use one of those, if we decide to use the double hung window again. I don't know them all, the first 2 top of your list are best known. Rylock is a good company, Stegbar is for sale. 4 16241 2 5858 I don’t think so as the floor area over 300 square meters then it is class 3…. 12 17942 |
