I need to add a cat door to a sash window in my house but I'm a bit stuck as to how to fit it! At my old place I used a couple of pieces of ply glued together and put it in the window with the cat door through the ply, then locked the window in place with lengths of wood to prevent it sliding. But now with the sash window and the inset edges i'm not sure how to securely put a piece of wood in. I'm worried that If i trim down the wood so it will fit inside the inset then it wont be secure. If anybody has any creative solutions to this problem I'd love to hear them! I'm in a rental property so no major modifications to the frame etc are possible.
