Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 Apr 18, 2013 5:18 pm My back door, when open, is about 9cm off the floor and opens above the skirting. Currently the doorstop is set in the skirting at an angle but it looks awful and I am renovating and replacing all my doorstops with chrome ones. I need something that will fit to the skirting that has a "dog leg" in it to make it higher, or something that will screw into the floor (which is a concrete slab) that is over 10cm high. I haven't been able to find anything locally - is anybody able to help? Thanks. Re: Doorstop for door that is high off the floor 3Apr 20, 2013 10:17 pm Thanks for the suggestion but it would still hit the wall and, rather than the door handle putting a hole in the wall, the stop would put a hole in the wall. I was hoping there was a high door stop that could be fixed to the floor or some sort of angled stop that would sit higher than the skirting but still be able to be attached to the skirting. Re: Doorstop for door that is high off the floor 4Apr 21, 2013 11:13 pm Hi lynden Your back door will be 820, studs are spaced at 600 so you'll have a stud somewhere along the length of the door. Simply find the stud and fix the stop to that. It may not be right at the end of the door but it may be the best option in your situation. I haven't received it yet but am hoping it will do the trick. If not, I will use your suggestion of putting the stop into the stud. Thank you.
